When I was a small child, my parents played a book on tape in the car called "The Animal That Drank Up Sound." This song is about that tape.
It incorporates familiar sounds that remind me of the tape and most of the lyrics are direct references.
lyrics
We were wandering around
When the animals came and drank the sound
It was cold feet in the snow, feet in the snow
And will you still want me around
When I'm frozen underground, when I'm frozen
And will you still hold my lips
With icy bits and I can't talk
Are the crickets hiding?
Will they bring the spring?
